Community Highlight: West Austin, Texas

Community Highlight: West Austin, Texas

Before the 1980’s, West Austin was pretty much nothing but forest. But since then, West Austin has become home to some of the most expensive real estate in the Austin metro area. There’s a lot to love about the West Austin area, including the Lake Austin waterfront and beautiful Texas Hill Country scenery. It’s also still pretty close to downtown Austin and their school system is part of the Eanes ISD, one of the most highly acclaimed in the state.

Two of West Austin’s neighborhoods are actually cities in and of themselves: Rollingwood, TX and West Lake Hills, TX. They are two of the more expensive places to buy a home in the West Austin area. You can expect homes to cost $700,000 or more, with as high as $2 million in Rollingwood and $6 million in West Lake Hills.

Some other West Austin neighborhoods feature multi-million dollar homes, too. But, there are neighborhoods with homes in the high $200,000’s to $300,000’s range. Being so close to Lake Austin and downtown Austin makes the area highly desirable and real estate very competitive. There are still new homes being developed, too, so there’s a chance to get the home of your dreams in the West Austin area.

At Dacko Realty we’re committed to enriching the lives of people who may be new to the region or who already live in Austin. Call us today at 512-537-3539 or email us at davedacko@gmail.com.
